Description
Spring is in the air when the courtship ritual of this beautiful wader can be heard over arable land.Lapwings are at risk due to changing techniques in agriculture. It is struggling to find nesting sites often pushing it to roadside hedges thus forcing the young to take refuge on busy roads trying to evade capture from predators.
They have a iridescent plumage that can only be seen when at rest as they look black and white in flight.
